YOUNG ARTISTS: please register, so we can visit with you in advance.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be postponed to the following Saturday, May 11.

The Hisel Family Farm is a working farm with live animals and equipment. Age 12 and up is recommended. The farm and the PCFA are not liable for any harm, injury and or accident.

This is a non-contest event & FREE  of charge, sponsored by Platte City Friends of the Arts.

All art skills levels are invited. There will be no tutorial or instruction given on how to create your piece. So the skill level and maturity needs to be able to work independently.  The area must remain quiet and a conducive atmosphere for creativity!

The Plein Air event will be open to the public to watch the artists at work with personal space kept and interference minimal.

We will have a few folding tables set up for those who don’t own an easel. (No chairs provided)

Limited parking is available so carpool if you can.

We are partnering with the Platte County Historical Society. They will be providing photos of famous illustrator John P Falter.  He painted some rural Platte County scenes. These photos can serve as inspiration in how you choose your composition and style.

This Plein Air event will be a warm up or practice session for the upcoming Plein Air Platte City Contest in September 2024. It will be juried by PCFA board members.  More information will be upcoming for this exciting joint event with the Platte County Historical Society.
